This is *Deadpool Batman – Part One*. I hope you enjoy it!
The story begins with Bruce Wayne in Wayne Manor, reflecting on something strange: a collection of materials extracted from Gotham City has all been stolen. Among them is a substance called *Neo-Stigmine*—though he isn’t sure what it is—along with *Beldona* and other materials with names he can’t quite pronounce, which have also been taken.
Batman quickly discovers that the Joker is, in fact, creating enough Joker Toxin to poison the entire city.
Suddenly, in the midst of all this, Deadpool bursts through the window, shattering the glass like Ben Affleck’s Batman in *Batman v Superman*. As expected, at first, he mocks Bruce Wayne a little—but he’s not here to attack him in the conventional way.
Strangely, Bruce Wayne is wearing a bathrobe when Deadpool appears. Deadpool jokingly says, “Oh my God! For a moment, I thought I was about to interrupt a very aggressive self-care routine, but thankfully, it seems that’s not the case.”
Bruce responds sternly, “I’ll ask only once—who the hell are you?”
Deadpool, nonchalantly and humorously, replies, “No worries if you don’t know me. They call me Deadpool—the mercenary clown. And the only reason for that is that I’m literally funny. That’s all there is to it.”
From the very first moment, Deadpool talks at a manic, rapid pace, and Bruce immediately realizes that this man is extremely crazy. Deadpool continues, “I hurt people for money, and I’m in the city for work. But don’t worry—you’re not my target.”
Bruce feels slightly reassured and says he isn’t really interested in him. Interestingly, Deadpool is here for a dual purpose while he’s in the city for a mission. He asks if Bruce Wayne has anyone he wants killed, as he usually does with billionaires: “Do you want me to take out a business partner?”
Bruce replies that he isn’t that kind of billionaire.
Seeing Alfred, Deadpool wonders, “And who is this guy?” Bruce responds, “This is my servant.”
Deadpool sarcastically remarks that the man has probably never cleaned blood stains or cheap cologne from the back of an Aston Martin, jokingly suggesting that Alfred might need to be gotten rid of. The idea is humorous and mocking.
Then Deadpool, in a rebellious tone, says, “If you can’t respect me enough to have a frank discussion about your disgusting, shameful inclinations, I’ll leave. I have to focus on catching that guy called Batman.”
At that moment, Bruce wonders if Batman is Deadpool’s target. Deadpool responds mockingly, “Have you heard of him? A man who disguises himself in a costume and a bat emblem. They say he’s terrifying and scary, though obviously funny.” He adds that he’s being paid a large sum to hunt this man.
During this conversation, the Bat-Signal lights up in the sky. Deadpool, with naïve curiosity, asks if that signal is calling Batman and whether that’s how they summon him. Bruce explains that what they are seeing is indeed the Bat-Signal.
Deadpool smiles and says, “Exactly what I needed—a Bat-Signal!” Clearly, he finds the whole idea absurd and amusing. Bruce prepares to head out into the night once again.
Later, Deadpool moves into Gotham City and encounters Commissioner Jim Gordon. Their conversation unfolds as expected: Deadpool asks if this is the line to meet Batman. Gordon responds in a dry tone, “Jim Gordon, Gotham City Police.”
Deadpool sarcastically replies, “No need to introduce yourself, that’s enough,” and a sharp exchange of witty remarks follows. Gordon mocks Deadpool, saying he’s worked in Gotham long enough to recognize lunatics on sight. Deadpool counters by joking that Gordon reminds him of his father.
In reality, Gordon doesn’t want to deal with Deadpool, as he has more important matters. But there’s a funny moment when Deadpool waves impatiently and says, “Listen, old man, it looks like your lips might get chapped if a slight wind hits them. So why not step aside before the mercenary with the jabbering mouth starts puffing?” He then pauses and admits that the joke didn’t come out quite as intended.
Batman appears and immediately attacks Deadpool, leaping at him. The fight is both spectacular and hilarious. Deadpool, in astonishment, says, “Oh my God! Batman, you’re terrifying,” and reluctantly admits that the bat costume and the scream have an incredibly effective impact, even though he hates to acknowledge it.
Deadpool attacks, but Batman, as a martial arts expert, quickly gains the upper hand. Deadpool realizes this and sarcastically says, “So, you’re a little better than me at karate.” He adds, “It’s okay—I came prepared with toys.”
Bruce smiles and responds, “So did I,” tossing the Batarangs into Deadpool’s hands and disarming him. After Deadpool fires his pistols, Batman throws ropes over him, wrapping and restraining him.
Deadpool jokingly says, “You’re right—we’re even. Honestly, people always wonder who would win if they fought. Of course, they think Deadpool would win, but the real point is that each earned the other’s respect.”
Since Deadpool breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to us, Batman doesn’t realize it, especially considering that the DC Universe rarely uses this trick the way Marvel does.
Deadpool admits that he can’t actually kill Batman—he genuinely finds it difficult. Batman calmly responds that he was never in any real danger of being killed by him.
At that moment, Gordon intervenes: “This fool has wasted enough of our time. We have more important matters. The Joker sent us a message giving you six hours to find him before he releases Joker Toxin into the city.”
Batman adds that all these thefts occurred on August 8th. Then the larger puzzle begins to take shape, with a humorous clue provided by Deadpool himself. He points out the idea of the full moon, saying, “It comes into play in my work,” explaining that when the tide lowers, coastal caves used to hide objects are revealed.
They take a map and realize that Deadpool wasn’t joking. When the tide recedes, multiple caves appear that could lead them to places where the Joker might be hiding—secret locations in Gotham accessible only under specific conditions.
While Gordon and Batman try to narrow down the Joker’s location, Deadpool suggests with his famous line: “You’ll need a crazy man to catch a crazy man.”
At first, Gordon is wary of the idea, but Bruce sees some potential benefit. They take Deadpool along on a guided tour with Batman.
The experience is unique. Deadpool jokes about the cramped space inside the Batmobile and the difficulty of fitting two people in it without Robin, spinning the mistaken sexual innuendo with his usual humor. Batman ignores the silly jokes, while Deadpool focuses solely on keeping his real identity hidden.
Deadpool admits that his face and lips are disfigured due to the healing factor that granted him his powers—the same process that gave him both traits. This meant he didn’t need to overpower Batman with brute force; he only had to corner Batman in a tight space. Deadpool ends with a sarcastic remark: “Sorry, buddy, it’s just business,” before releasing a gas bomb that renders Batman unconscious.
Here, the real reason for Deadpool’s presence is revealed: he was hired by the Joker himself. Shocking, isn’t it? The Joker is the one who brought Deadpool to Gotham. Even while restrained, Batman wants to know the full story.
The encounter between Deadpool and the Joker is the most important scene in the story, delivering everything a reader might expect—and more.
The Joker laughs at last and says his usual line, “I got the last laugh.”
Deadpool sarcastically replies, “I like how you slipped your name into that sentence.”
The Joker explodes in anger: “Stop stealing my lines! I’m tired of repeating them!”
Deadpool calmly responds, “Alright, alright, I get it. You’re doing a great job.”
Here, the Joker reveals how he even got Deadpool in the first place. When Batman asks, “Where did you find this man?” the Joker answers, “Klarion, the Boy of Magic, gave me a spell that lets me get to Deadpool anywhere and anytime. Unfortunately, Deadpool was in another universe, so I had to use the Cosmic Treadmill—it’s much harder than it looks. I nearly collapsed until I summoned Reverse-Flash to help me. But don’t worry—these muscles didn’t complain a bit.”
He then sarcastically compares himself to Richard Grayson, saying even Nightwing doesn’t have a physique like his.
Batman wryly comments, “Admit it, Joker—you’ve outdone yourself. You found someone even crazier than you.”
And with that, the plan begins to take shape clearly.
The Joker can’t stand anyone stealing his position as Batman’s number one enemy. He responds indignantly, “Crazier? I don’t think so.”
Batman interrupts him, saying, “I see it. You’ve spent your life trying to drive me insane, while this clown did it in just one hour.”
The Joker, sarcastically angry, snaps, “Don’t call him a clown! I’m the only clown here!”
Batman presses on, “You’re right. He’s more than just a deranged jester, but he’s aware of his madness—a perfect opponent, a worthy enemy to occupy my mind.”
At that point, the Joker pulls Deadpool aside and says, “Hey, let’s talk privately, Wade.”
Deadpool, in his usual style, asks, “Are you sure you want to kill this guy? I mean, it’s a rare case—maybe a once-in-a-generation chance. I can see myself chasing him for decades in a cat-and-mouse game that ends up being the most important relationship in our lives.”
He’s simply describing the historical relationship between the Joker and Batman. Then he suggests, “Maybe we can share: I’ll be the young, handsome, and of course funny villain, and you stay the dark-humored one.”
The Joker grins, “Great idea, Wade! Let’s shake on it.”
As soon as the Joker touches his hand, he shocks Deadpool with electricity and adds, “And better yet, I’ve poisoned you with Joker Toxin!”
But Deadpool, thanks to his healing factor, doesn’t collapse completely. He runs toward Batman, shouting, “The plan has changed!” Only to discover that Batman has already freed himself.
Deadpool, unusually energetic, announces that he feels an unprecedented mental clarity, while Batman warns him, “You’ve been poisoned by Joker Toxin.”
Wade responds with blind confidence, “Don’t worry—my healing factor’s got this.” Yet his twisted expression tells a different story.
Then the Joker reveals his final plan: “It’s over, Batman. In 30 seconds, Joker Toxin will flow through every pipe in Gotham, killing everyone. There’s only one button at the heart of this vortex—press it, and the toxin will evaporate harmlessly. But any fool who dares try will die. That’s my last joke, and you get to choose its ending.”
Before Batman can move, Deadpool jumps up, saying, “Leave it to me!” He sprints toward the vortex, presses the button, and detonates the toxin completely—without hesitation—saving Gotham in a decisive moment.
Thus, the conflict ends—not with an epic confrontation between Batman and the Joker, as usual, but with a wild and simple move from Deadpool that ends the game entirely.
As the Joker is transferred to the police wagon, Deadpool jokes, “Room for one more? Just kidding, just kidding.” The miracle man sits in the front seat.
Batman tells him that the effects of the toxin will fade over time, then confronts him with the truth: “I used you to reach the Joker. I was confident our cooperation would fall apart, and I let myself be captured to lead me directly to him.”
Deadpool, shocked, responds, “You were that confident I’d play us against each other?”
Batman coldly replies, “Yes.”
In the end, he gives Deadpool a chance to return to his own universe after admitting he saved the city. But, true to his nature, Deadpool decides to stay a little longer, wandering the streets of Gotham, taking it as an invitation from Batman to remain there. And the madness is far from over.
And so, Part One of the Deadpool–Batman crossover comes to an end. True, it wasn’t a masterpiece, but it was entertaining.
